About Me

Belgian harpist Luna Vissers is an award-winning performer based in Zurich, Switzerland. Alongside her passion for solo repertoire, she is also highly active in the orchestral world, having participated in academies in Bern and Mannheim, as well as in chamber music with her ensemble, Duo Impromptu.

Luna completed her studies at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in 2024 in the class of Professor Sarah O’Brien. At this prestigious university, she obtained both a Master in Music Pedagogy and a Master in Performance, the latter with the highest possible distinction. Following her two master’s degrees, she pursued a CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies) during the 2024–2025 academic year, again with Professor Sarah O’Brien, to deepen her artistic development. During her time at ZHdK, Luna had the opportunity to study with several renowned harpists, in particular Una Prelle, principal harpist of the Philharmonia Zürich, as well as Julie Palloc (also Philharmonia Zürich) and Arianna Savall (Baroque harp).

In 2025, after a successful audition, Luna was selected to take part in the Orchesterakademie Rhein-Neckar for the 2025–2026 season, a collaboration between the State University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim and the following orchestras : the National Theatre Mannheim, the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester, the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, and the Theatre and Philharmonic Orchestra of the City of Heidelberg.

Luna earned her Bachelor’s degree in Brussels at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, studying with Annie Lavoisier. Her first musical education took place at the Conservatory of Bruges, where she graduated with the highest distinction in both harp and chamber music, respectively under the guidance of Eline Groslot and Arne Deforce. Eline Groslot remained an important inspiration in Luna’s musical development.

As a soloist, Luna has received numerous awards. In 2022, she became the first harpist ever to be selected for the Rahn Kulturfonds. A year later, she was awarded a “Mention du jury” at the Rencontres Internationales de la Harpe en Île-de-France. In 2025, Luna was also selected to participate in one of the world’s most prestigious harp competitions, the USA International Harp Competition, where she advanced to the final 22 participants.

In addition to her solo career, Luna is an active orchestral musician. In the 2025–2026 season, she will be part of the Orchesterakademie Rhein-Neckar. In the 2023–2024 season, she was an academy member at the Bern Symphony Orchestra, where she had the opportunity to perform both as principal harpist and as second harpist.
